“For Colored Girls” Viewing & Discussion

Please join theHotness.com in collaboration with Real Colored Girls and BlackFemme.blogspot.com for a group viewing of Tyler Perry’s latest cinematic venture “FOR COLORED GIRLS” this Sunday, November 7th at the Union Square Cinema Stadium 14 @1:50PM (group discussion @ NYU immediately following).

Based on the groundbreaking and revelatory choreopeoem “FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF” by Ntozake Shange, the movie adaptation has fostered controversy and myriad responses. What better way to view such a hot button-pressing, female-centered groundbreaking film than to gather together for a Grrrls Afternoon Out?

We invite you to join us in NYC this SUN NOV 7th for a group screening and post-talk, which promises to be an exciting, transformative and much needed convo by, for and about us real colored girls– our lives, our bodies, men, media and our representation. Please come share your perspective and insight with the group during our discussion lead by cultural worker and singer Imani Uzuri, cultural critic/ blogger Jennifer Williams and me. (And yes, men are welcome to join!)

Please purchase tickets in advance HERE for the SUN NOV 7TH @ 1:50PM “FOR COLORED GIRLS” screening.
