In A Sundress & On My Queen Game!

“The dress must not hang on the body but follow its lines. It must accompany its wearer and when a woman smiles the dress must smile with her.” -Madeleine Vionnet

When the thermostat hits 85 degrees or higher I don’t want some hot fabric wrapped over my legs and stifling the flow of air around my thighs and treasure-box, so shorts and capris are out of the question. Honestly, if I could’ve gone butt-naked every day last week, I would’ve done so in a fashion flash. But this country’s skewed correlation and pre-occupation with nudity, sex and pornography kinda made that a no-no. Alas the next best thing to rocking my birthday suit is rocking a lovely sundress. Sundresses are not only weather-appropriate, they are also flirty and so summer sexy, a wonderful counterbalance to my staid ruffneck winter outfit of Timberlands and corduroys.

A dress for the sun! Surely a sundress is more frame than frock. It’s got a natural sway. A solar-empowered regalia of femininity and fire that folds over into curves of a woman’s body. When I wear a sundress I’m on my Queen game big time!

Sundresses also remind me of my Southern family roots where all ladies wear dresses and sip sweet tea in the summer. Legs crossed, lip glossed and toe nails dipped in a fiery red glaze on display in a pair of Haviannas or stilettos rounds out the look of an on-point sundresser. You best believe she knows she’s the coolest hotness around the way.

These three sundresses are on my Bucket List to be copped and frolicked in this summer:

This Chiffon, vintage-print halter dress by Issa London is vibrant with swirls of salmon pink and avocado green. It features a deep v-neck and kills with an open back.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love green! This loose fitting silk dress by Diane Von Furstenberg is easy, breezy, beautiful at a pool party or sushi dinner in Soho.

Flirty like an orange flame dancing atop a wax candle this cotton dress by HD In Paris is fun and too fly.
