WoW Festival: Who Owns Our Bodies?

wowfest

This weekend, I will be one of 128 women to appear at the New York debut of ‪‎WOW‬– Women of the World Festival, an international event intended to celebrate women and spark progressive discussion of their rights. Held at the Apollo Theater in Harlem —and open to everyone—the event runs June 11-14 and includes keynotes by Iyanla Vanzant and Naomi Wolf, performances by Macy Gray, Jessica Care Moore, and Toshi Reagon, workshops on career navigation and activism, and discussion panels with titles like “Stop Telling Women to Smile,” “Organizing and Activism 101” and my panel– “Who Owns Our Bodies?” all day on Saturday at City College and The Apollo Theater. Come join us. I’d love to see you.

And here’s a cool article in this week’s Newsweek that gives a special shout-out about the Who Owns Our Bodies? panel. Coolio!

Please note girls ages 18 and under and all Harlem residents may purchase $10 tickets (ie. super discounted!) at the Apollo Theater Box Office.
